FC Arsenal Varna's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Amador Rubio 36 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 3-1. Ikonom Chushev hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. If Rosen Penchovski had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Lyuben Vlaykovski stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lyuben Vlaykovski got free with Kliment Zakov in the 52nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Rosen Penchovski's late challenge caught a Birmingham City F.C.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rosen Penchovski helped the player get up and apologised. Rosen Penchovski kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. When Birmingham City F.C.'s Erland Boberg in the 75th minute got a chance for a shot 75th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. But to his dismay, Luis Alberto Suárez quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-1. FC Arsenal Varna's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
