Farnworth City's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Teimuraz Zabelin ran over to the corner to take the kick. In the 21st minute, Ignatiy Kikalishvili ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Bakhar Mingrelsky was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Bakhar Mingrelsky showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nodar Bitsadze, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. If Nodar Bitsadze had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Farnworth City's Bakhar Mingrelsky got control of the ball when Ignatiy Kikalishvili tried to sneak it across the goal line. A wasted opportunity for Farnworth City. Ignatiy Kikalishvili received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Bakhar Mingrelsky tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The audience was convinced that Ignatiy Kikalishvili's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Bakhar Mingrelsky was relentless in the 67th minute of the game.
