Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Barca's Vladimir Sulaberidze started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 5th minute, Tshalkhia Pozharskiy got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Anatoly Torotadze took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Davit Khatiashvili, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 11th minute, Vladimir Sulaberidze managed to get in a good position for a shot. Barca's supporters rose to their feet, but Vladimir Sulaberidze was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gocha Torotadze breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in Southall's zone, Vladimir Sulaberidze stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gocha Torotadze came out of the goal and Vladimir Sulaberidze tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Vaja Nad had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 27th minute, Vladimir Sulaberidze made a precise shot to the right of Gocha Torotadze. Southall's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. When Vladimir Sulaberidze came up free with the goalie in the 32nd minute, the Barca fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vladimir Sulaberidze couldn't finish the play. 41 minutes into the match, Barca's goal looked a bit too open when Davit Khatiashvili came free, but Anatoly Torotadze reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Anatoly Torotadze showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Davit Khatiashvili in the 42nd minute of the match. Tshalkhia Pozharskiy struck a weak shot in the 44th minute. Anatoly Torotadze didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Southall. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The wind increased when Davit Khatiashvili made the kick off in the second half. In the 55th minute, Vladimir Sulaberidze got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 62nd minute of the match Barca got a corner. Southall's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Imeda Cheishvili ran over to the corner to take the kick. Barca's Imeda Cheishvili was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Gocha Torotadze in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. After 66 played minutes Southall got a freekick which was hit by Mikhail Cheishvili. 67 minutes into the match, Barca's Imeda Cheishvili broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Gocha Torotadze made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vladimir Sulaberidze in the 74th minute of play. 79 minutes into the match, Southall's goalkeeper Gocha Torotadze had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Vaja Nad. Davit Khatiashvili blasted a shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Anatoly Torotadze having to make a save. In the 83rd minute Davit Khatiashvili shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Anatoly Torotadze saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Barca's Anatoly Torotadze played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Davit Khatiashvili in the 88th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tshalkhia Pozharskiy in the 90th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Anatoly Torotadze prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a defensive mix-up in Southall's zone, Vaja Nad stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gocha Torotadze came out of the goal and Vaja Nad tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Gocha Torotadze showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vladimir Sulaberidze in the 94th minute of the match. Bukhuti Mamporia was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 96 minutes into the match. In the 96th minute, one of Southall:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Southall. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Barca walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
