When Valiko Sulaberidze fell near the penalty area in the 10th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Kirkby FC's protests and gave Valiko Sulaberidze a yellow card for diving instead. After 10 played minutes Kirkby FC got a freekick which was hit by Valiko Sulaberidze. The supporters of Harrogate FC booed when Kirkby FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marat Cholokaev didn't get a good kick on the ball. 12 minutes into the match, Kirkby FC's goal looked a bit too open when Roland Sulaberidze came free, but Illarion Aragvsky reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 13th match minute, Kirkby FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mikhail Gadaevi to maneuver through the defense. Illarion Aragvsky came out of the goal and Gia Pozharskiy tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Gia Pozharskiy struck a weak shot in the 23rd minute. Illarion Aragvsky didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Harrogate FC. If Andrey Aragvsky had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mikhail Gadaevi struck a weak shot in the 28th minute. Kirkby FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mikhail Gadaevi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Andrey Aragvsky in the 36th minute of play forced Kirkby FC's goalkeeper Illarion Aragvsky to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Uta Alania sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Mikhail Gadaevi was the one to do the kick off. In the 54th minute the ball was on its way in behind Harrogate FC's goalkeeper Roman Machaidze, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Dato Kikalishvili hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 87th minute, Mikhail Gadaevi managed to get in a good position for a shot. Kirkby FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Mikhail Gadaevi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Roman Machaidze breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Mikhail Gadaevi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mikhail Gadaevi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Roman Machaidze having to interfere. Harrogate FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
