Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Sese Milakiev started the match with the kick off. Anatoly Cheishvili made a fantastic save in the 13th minute, when Tariel Abesadze sent off a good shot on target. After 16 played minutes Cornell University got a freekick which was hit by Aydin Gadaevi. After a rather tough play, Thurlaston's Dato Pawletko got a free kick in the 22nd minute. If Djvebe Jachvadze had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sese Milakiev struck a weak shot in the 30th minute. Nodari Paghava didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cornell University. The audience was convinced that Djvebe Jachvadze's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Nodari Paghava was relentless in the 31st minute of the game. Thurlaston's Eldar Mkheidze got a good chance for a goal in the 33rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the match had gone on for 35 minutes, Eldar Mkheidze took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Anatoly Cheishvili to make any attempt to save it. Tariel Abesadze fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Anatoly Cheishvili having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tariel Abesadze got free with Anatoly Cheishvili in the 45th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Tariel Abesadze's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 46thth minute, Anatoly Cheishvili skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After a defensive mix-up in Cornell University's zone, Tariel Abesadze stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Anatoly Cheishvili came out of the goal and Tariel Abesadze tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Eldar Mkheidze to strike the kick off in the second half. Anatoly Cheishvili made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eldar Mkheidze in the 53rd minute of play. Eldar Mkheidze recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 56th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Nodari Paghava showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sese Milakiev, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. Tariel Abesadze fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Anatoly Cheishvili having to interfere. Sese Milakiev sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cornell University's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Eldar Mkheidze was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. After 78 played minutes Cornell University got a freekick which was hit by Amiran Sulaberidze. Tariel Abesadze recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 80th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 82 minutes, Dato Pawletko mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Thurlaston and the Cornell University players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Thurlaston's Dato Pawletko got a free kick in the 82nd minute. Anatoly Cheishvili showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eldar Mkheidze in the 84th minute of the match. Taka Alania hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Thurlaston's zone, Djvebe Jachvadze stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nodari Paghava came out of the goal and Djvebe Jachvadze tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Anatoly Cheishvili showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tariel Abesadze in the 97th minute of the match. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Thurlaston fans cheered their team off the field, for while Cornell University had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
