Egos Lekov made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Taka Londaridze recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 18th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Djvebe Levidze hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. Braintree's Egos Lekov played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Emiriev Burduli in the 23rd minute of play. Anatoly Kikalishvili didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jarji Shalikashvili went, in the 25th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. In the 30th minute Taka Londaridze shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Anatoly Kikalishvili saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Valeri Goloviznin could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 31st minute of the match, but Egos Lekov made a huge save. In the 32nd minute, Kvarkvare Andrzheevskiy hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Taka Londaridze in the 34th minute of play forced RUSTAVI f.c.'s goalkeeper Anatoly Kikalishvili to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 38 minutes into the match, RUSTAVI f.c.'s goal looked a bit too open when Jarji Shalikashvili came free, but Anatoly Kikalishvili reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The RUSTAVI f.c. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Anatoly Kikalishvili should have stopped the shot. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Emiriev Burduli made a kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Emiriev Burduli in the 52nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Egos Lekov saved Braintree from getting behind. When Mikhail Khatiashvili fell near the penalty area in the 59th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Braintree's protests and gave Mikhail Khatiashvili a yellow card for diving instead. Braintree's Egos Lekov played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Emiriev Burduli in the 61st minute of play. In the 69th minute, Otar Dzotsenidze hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Taka Londaridze received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute.
