The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 14 played minutes Ağdam MMC got a freekick which was hit by Yähya Mailov. Bäkir Ağayev made a fantastic save in the 15th minute, when Loğman Ağäliyev sent off a good shot on target. When Fuad Alxanov came up free with the goalie in the 20th minute, the Qobustan fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fuad Alxanov couldn't finish the play. 24 minutes into the match, Qobustan's Fuad Alxanov sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Bäkir Ağayev narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Qobustan's Fuad Alxanov got a good chance for a goal in the 26th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some careless play in the Qobustan defense, Fazil Aşuräliyev kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ziyad Gärayev. The Qobustan fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ziyad Gärayev should have stopped the shot. Ziyad Gärayev showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fazil Aşuräliyev in the 46th minute of the match. In the 47th minute Fazil Aşuräliyev shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ziyad Gärayev saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tacir Nuriyev was the one to do the kick off. When Ağdam MMC's Fazil Aşuräliyev, in the 51st minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Ağdam MMC. Ağdam MMC's Äliäddin Umudov shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 90th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Ziyad Gärayev but with some difficulty. The Qobustan fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Ağdam MMC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
