The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of Postal FC booed when Qarabagh FK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Roman Ocaqverdiyev didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 9th minute, Mahir Alğyev got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Mahir Alğyev in the 11th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Qurban Namazov saved Qarabagh FK from getting behind. Haciqämbär Alimov received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Qurban Namazov tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Haciqämbär Alimov fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Qurban Namazov having to interfere. Mahir Alğyev received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Qurban Namazov tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With his leg Qurban Namazov managed to avoid a goal in the 19thth minute, when Postal FC's Haciqämbär Alimov fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Ilkin Abdürähimov stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Qädim Kazimov's shot from short distance in the 23rd minute. Haciqämbär Alimov sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Mahir Alğyev came up free with the goalie in the 34th minute, the Postal FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mahir Alğyev couldn't finish the play. Qurban Namazov made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mahir Alğyev in the 39th minute of play. Murad Mövsümov fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ilkin Abdürähimov having to interfere. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Mahir Alğyev to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute, Ağadur Abdulrähmanov hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Murad Mövsümov in the 58th minute of play forced Postal FC's goalkeeper Ilkin Abdürähimov to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 59 minutes into the game, Mehdi Ämircanov was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Postal FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Qarabagh FK the free kick. Mehdi Ämircanov kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. Qurban Namazov showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mahir Alğyev in the 64th minute of the match.
