Qusif Mehdiyev recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 27th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 31 minutes, Zülfüqar Behbudov managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Qarabağ's supporters crossed their fingers, but Zülfüqar Behbudov was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Hidayät Äläkbärov made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zakir Xudadverdiyev in the 34th minute of play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The wind increased when Näsib Yusubov made the kick off in the second half. Näsib Yusubov's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Hidayät Äläkbärov firmly grabbed it by the left post. Mämmäd Ämrahov hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match.
