Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Mehran Nağiyev to make the kick off. Lökbatan SS's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Zülfüqar Behbudov was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-3. When the match had gone on for 75 minutes, Mämmädbağır Xudiyev took a quick shot and it went in 2-4 without a chance for Hidayät Äläkbärov to make any attempt to save it. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Mehran Nağiyev during the 82nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After some fancy dribbling in the 84th minute, Mehran Nağiyev managed to get in a good position for a shot. Qarabağ's supporters rose to their feet, but Mehran Nağiyev was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Atlas Abduläzimov breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Mehran Nağiyev had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lökbatan SS's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
