Hidayät Äläkbärov made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cuma Balacayev in the 10th minute of play. After 17 played minutes Qarabağ got a freekick which was hit by Salman Eyyubov. Söhrab Israfilovs short, quick shot in the 18thth minute got Hidayät Äläkbärov to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Yaqub Ağankäri in the 22nd minute of play forced SanSon's goalkeeper Rahib Balayev to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 27th minute, Zülfüqar Behbudov got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 36th minute there was a penalty for Qarabağ. Mehran Nağiyev stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Rahib Balayev. 0-2. Mehran Nağiyev might have been able to make a better finish in the 42nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Rahib Balayev. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Mehran Nağiyev ran back to his position shaking his head. Mehran Nağiyev sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The SanSon players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Qarabağ were winning 0-2.

51 minutes into the match, Qarabağ's goal looked a bit too open when Söhrab Israfilov came free, but Hidayät Äläkbärov reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Qarabağ's Zülfüqar Behbudov got a good chance for a goal in the 52nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cuma Balacayev in the 56th minute of play forced Qarabağ's goalkeeper Hidayät Äläkbärov to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Mehran Nağiyev came up free with the goalie in the 59th minute, the Qarabağ fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mehran Nağiyev couldn't finish the play. Hidayät Äläkbärov showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Söhrab Israfilov, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. Natiq Isgändärov recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 63rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Hidayät Äläkbärov showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Söhrab Israfilov in the 65th minute of the match. After 67 minutes, Söhrab Israfilov mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SanSon and the Qarabağ players grew even worse after the yellow card. Hidayät Äläkbärov made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cuma Balacayev in the 69th minute of play. Mämmäd Ämrahov kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. Yaqub Ağankäri fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rahib Balayev having to interfere. In the 86th minute, Mämmäd Ämrahov hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Zülfüqar Behbudov struck a weak shot in the 89th minute. Rahib Balayev didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Qarabağ. Hidayät Äläkbärov made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aqşin Babazadä in the 92nd minute of play. Hidayät Äläkbärov didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Söhrab Israfilov went, in the 93rd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. The Qarabağ players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented SanSon from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
