The referee showed Qäzänfär Mälikov the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 11 played minutes Yardımlı got a freekick which was hit by Qäzänfär Mälikov. Orxan Qasimov tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Yardımlı's Tural Alişanov played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sahib Bäbirov in the 28th minute of play. In the 28th minute, Sahib Bäbirov made a precise shot to the right of Tural Alişanov. Yardımlı's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. 31 minutes into the match, Sahib Bäbirov had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Tural Alişanov. Yardımlı's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Sahib Bäbirov was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. José Antonio Camacho's late challenge caught a Yardımlı's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. José Antonio Camacho helped the player get up and apologised. In the 43rd minute, Abülfäz Alesrefov hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience was convinced that Mehdi Rzayev's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Tural Alişanov was relentless in the 45th minute of the game. Zahir Zeynalov's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Tural Alişanov firmly grabbed it by the left post. Zahir Zeynalov might have been able to make a better finish in the 63rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Tural Alişanov. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Zahir Zeynalov ran back to his position shaking his head. 66 minutes into the match, Zahir Zeynalov had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Tural Alişanov. Yardımlı's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Zahir Zeynalov was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-4. Sahib Bäbirov recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 73rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Sahib Bäbirov blasted a shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Tural Alişanov having to make a save. 86 minutes into the match, Yardımlı's goal looked a bit too open when Sahib Bäbirov came free, but Tural Alişanov reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
