A collision led to Thanet City getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. Changeez Alizadeh hit a great ball. Mojtaba Sadeghi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 7th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Mojtaba Sadeghi scored 1-1 in the 10th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Farbod Eshkevari, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Faramarz Omrani in the 13th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Farbod Eshkevari prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 23 minutes, Faramarz Omrani made it 1-2 with a short kick to the right side. Thanet City's Farbod Eshkevari tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After 29 minutes of play, Thanet City's Soroush Akbari made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Behrang Farhadi was left in no man's land by his defense there! A collision led to Lytham City getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Farhang Homayoun hit a great ball. In the 41st minute Mojtaba Sadeghi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Farbod Eshkevari saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-2.

A collision led to Thanet City getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Changeez Alizadeh hit a great ball. Mojtaba Sadeghi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Farbod Eshkevari tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Farbod Eshkevari stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Faramarz Omrani's shot from short distance in the 58th minute. Faramarz Omrani fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Farbod Eshkevari having to interfere. Lytham City's Behrang Farhadi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fardad Babakan in the 67th minute of play. Fardad Babakan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 74th minute, Mojtaba Sadeghi got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 79 played minutes Thanet City got a freekick which was hit by Shayan Behjat. Behrang Farhadi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Soroush Akbari in the 82nd minute of play. After 83 played minutes Lytham City got a freekick which was hit by Makan Pious. In the 84th minute of the match Morteza Barzegar sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Behrang Farhadi skillfully saved the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 94th minute, Mojtaba Sadeghi managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lytham City's supporters rose to their feet, but Mojtaba Sadeghi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Farbod Eshkevari breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Mojtaba Sadeghi came up free with the goalie in the 97th minute, the Lytham City fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mojtaba Sadeghi couldn't finish the play. Lytham City's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
