The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Sadra Hasanlou charged in rather forcefully in the 3rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. When Jalil Tayebi came up free with the goalie in the 13th minute, the Harefield fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jalil Tayebi couldn't finish the play. Saeed Majidi's late challenge caught a Harefield's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Saeed Majidi helped the player get up and apologised. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 17th minute of the game. One of Heybridge Basin FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Harefield:s goal. Heybridge Basin FC's Karim Barzegar suffered a concussion after 22 minutes and had to leave the field. Amir Mahdi Azimi kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. Hadi Emad fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hassan Daei having to interfere. When Hormoz Haghi fell near the penalty area in the 29th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Harefield's protests and gave Hormoz Haghi a yellow card for diving instead. Hormoz Haghi kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. In the 30th minute the ball was on its way in behind Harefield's goalkeeper Hassan Daei, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. With his leg Gholam Naghdabadi managed to avoid a goal in the 32ndth minute, when Harefield's Jalil Tayebi fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Jalil Tayebi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gholam Naghdabadi having to interfere. Gholam Naghdabadi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mansoor Asadi in the 56th minute of play. Harefield's Hassan Daei played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hadi Emad in the 59th minute of play. In the 63rd minute, Vafa Taleblou got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Harefield's Pouya Ghomi got a free kick in the 64th minute. Harefield's Mansoor Asadi got a good chance for a goal in the 73rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 84 played minutes Heybridge Basin FC got a freekick which was hit by Navid Babakan. After some fancy dribbling in the 85th minute, Mansoor Asadi managed to get in a good position for a shot. Harefield's supporters rose to their feet, but Mansoor Asadi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gholam Naghdabadi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Gholam Naghdabadi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jalil Tayebi, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. After 96 minutes of play Harefield's Hormoz Haghi was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. The supporters of Heybridge Basin FC booed when Harefield was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 97 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hormoz Haghi didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 98th minute, Iman Tamadon hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Heybridge Basin FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
