Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Ehsan Ghasemlou took the kick off in the first half of the match. Payam Babakan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nariman Karimi, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. In the 10thth minute of the game Mani Ghanad who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Leyland FC's Payam Babakan was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Sohrab Nekounam had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sohrab Nekounam recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 14th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Payam Babakan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mani Ghanad in the 16th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mani Ghanad in the 19th minute of play forced Leyland FC's goalkeeper Payam Babakan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Amir Mahdi Ghasemlou got free with Gholam Bozorgzadeh in the 20th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Payam Babakan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mani Ghanad in the 24th minute of the match. The supporters of South Shields booed when Leyland FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Amir Parsa Ghanoun didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mani Ghanad sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Leyland FC's Payam Babakan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mani Ghanad in the 29th minute of play. 31 minutes into the match, Leyland FC's goal looked a bit too open when Sohrab Nekounam came free, but Payam Babakan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 33rd minute Mani Ghanad shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Payam Babakan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mani Ghanad sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sohrab Nekounam scored 0-1 in the 45th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Payam Babakan, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

A collision led to Leyland FC getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Ghobad Alviri hit a great ball. In the 54th minute, Saeed Sharifinia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sohrab Nekounam in the 56th minute of play forced Leyland FC's goalkeeper Payam Babakan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sohrab Nekounam in the 61st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Payam Babakan prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Mani Ghanad fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Payam Babakan having to interfere. 64 minutes into the game, Morteza Sohrabpour was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Leyland FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave South Shields the free kick. Morteza Sohrabpour hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. Payam Babakan didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Mani Ghanad went, in the 65th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Javad Memarzadeh fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Payam Babakan having to interfere. With his leg Payam Babakan managed to avoid a goal in the 73rdth minute, when South Shields's Mani Ghanad fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. The audience was convinced that Amir Mahdi Ghasemlou's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gholam Bozorgzadeh was relentless in the 75th minute of the game. In the 78th minute, Sohrab Nekounam got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Payam Babakan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sohrab Nekounam, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. South Shields played a much better game than Leyland FC and deserved their victory. The Leyland FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
