Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Sohrab Nekounam started the match with the kick off. In the 2nd minute of the match Dara Yavari sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Gholam Bozorgzadeh skillfully saved the ball. Sohrab Nekounam struck a weak shot in the 4th minute. Bahman Golzar didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for South Shields. Khashayar Hatami received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Gholam Bozorgzadeh tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bahman Golzar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sohrab Nekounam in the 9th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Gateshead FC's zone, Sohrab Nekounam stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bahman Golzar came out of the goal and Sohrab Nekounam tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Nariman Karimi came up free with the goalie in the 19th minute, the South Shields fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nariman Karimi couldn't finish the play. 28 minutes into the game, one of Gateshead FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Mani Ghanad fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bahman Golzar having to interfere. Javad Memarzadeh kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. After 43 minutes, Taher Dabir mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Gateshead FC and the South Shields players grew even worse after the yellow card. Sohrab Nekounam fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 49th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bahman Golzar having to interfere. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

After a rather tough play, Gateshead FC's Soroush Mazloumi got a free kick in the 52nd minute. After 58 played minutes South Shields got a freekick which was hit by Javad Memarzadeh. Khashayar Hatami could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 59th minute of the match, but Gholam Bozorgzadeh made a huge save. Bahman Golzar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mani Ghanad in the 61st minute of the match. Khashayar Hatami fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gholam Bozorgzadeh having to interfere. Bahman Golzar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sohrab Nekounam, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. Mani Ghanad sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, South Shields's Farjad Bazargan got a free kick in the 79th minute. Gateshead FC's Bahman Golzar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sohrab Nekounam in the 84th minute of play. Gholam Bozorgzadeh didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Khashayar Hatami went, in the 87th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. In the 90th minute, South Shields's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Khashayar Hatami fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. When Behrad Paknejad fell near the penalty area in the 95th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Gateshead FC's protests and gave Behrad Paknejad a yellow card for diving instead. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 94th minute of the game. One of Gateshead FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of South Shields:s goal. Sohrab Nekounam sent away a hard shot on goal in the 99th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
