First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! 19 minutes into the match, Iran Academy FC's goalkeeper Hesam Ghods had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Morteza Razzaghi. After a rather tough play, Sawtry's Amir Parsa Bozorgzadeh got a free kick in the 22nd minute. 23 minutes into the game, Jahandar Parsivand cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Massoud Ghotbi was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 25 played minutes Iran Academy FC got a freekick which was hit by Jafar Sadeghian. Morteza Razzaghi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Hesam Ghods tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gholam Reza Fallah Hamidabadi in the 33rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Hesam Ghods saved Iran Academy FC from getting behind. After 34 minutes, Behrang Babaei mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Iran Academy FC and the Sawtry players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Iran Academy FC's Behrang Babaei got a free kick in the 34th minute. If Morteza Razzaghi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Javeed Babaei's late challenge caught a Sawtry's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Javeed Babaei helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Iran Academy FC getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Javeed Babaei hit a great ball. After having played for 45 minutes, Gholam Reza Fallah Hamidabadi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sawtry's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gholam Reza Fallah Hamidabadi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Massoud Ghotbi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ferdows Haghi in the 47th minute of play. After the first half Iran Academy FC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gholam Reza Fallah Hamidabadi was the one to do the kick off. In a very dangerous position, a player in Sawtry fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 56th minute. Penalty! The referee gave Iran Academy FC a penalty, 57 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Changeez Kashi, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Sawtry's Massoud Ghotbi. 0-2. After 60 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Sawtry! Changeez Kashi shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. In the 71st match minute, Sawtry was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bardia Golzar to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ferdows Haghi in the 72nd minute of play forced Sawtry's goalkeeper Massoud Ghotbi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gholam Reza Fallah Hamidabadi struck a weak shot in the 96th minute. Hesam Ghods didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sawtry. In the 98th minute the ball was on its way in behind Iran Academy FC's goalkeeper Hesam Ghods, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 99th minute, Morteza Razzaghi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
