Zeeshan Waheed fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Giles Boulton having to interfere. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Islamabad Royals reached it. In the 46th minute, Saeed Sadiqqi ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Giles Boulton was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-3.
