The Northallerton fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. In the 7th match minute, Waterlooville AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Shawn Clarkson to maneuver through the defense. Kristopher Bakewell could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 10th minute of the match, but Masood Ghufyan made a huge save. Dion Reed didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ayaz Sajid went, in the 12th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Kamran Mazhar recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 17th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Noor Sadiqqi took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 20th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Dion Reed. Waterlooville AFC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Waterlooville AFC's zone, Kamran Mazhar stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dion Reed came out of the goal and Kamran Mazhar tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 28 minutes into the match, Waterlooville AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Ayaz Sajid came free, but Dion Reed reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Northallerton's Ayaz Sajid got a good chance for a goal in the 30th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Kamran Mazhar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Dion Reed tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Northallerton's Agha Kashan got a free kick in the 34th minute. If Kamran Mazhar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 39th minute, Kamran Mazhar got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Ayaz Sajid had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 46 minutes, Shawn Clarkson mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Waterlooville AFC and the Northallerton players grew even worse after the yellow card. After the first half Northallerton were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Kamran Mazhar to make the kick off. Ayaz Sajids short, quick shot in the 52ndth minute got Dion Reed to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. An unexpected shot in the 56th minute by Ayaz Sajid got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Dion Reed made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kamran Mazhar in the 57th minute of play. Shawn Clarkson was shown his second yellow card after 65 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. After a rather tough play, Waterlooville AFC's Shawn Clarkson got a free kick in the 66th minute. With his leg Dion Reed managed to avoid a goal in the 68thth minute, when Northallerton's Ayaz Sajid fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 68th minute, Russ Bennett hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Kamran Mazhar in the 70th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dion Reed saved Waterlooville AFC from getting behind. Kamran Mazhar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dion Reed having to interfere. Ayaz Sajid could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 77th minute of the match, but Dion Reed made a huge save. Kamran Mazhar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Dion Reed tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 80th minute, Kamran Mazhar managed to get in a good position for a shot. Northallerton's supporters rose to their feet, but Kamran Mazhar was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dion Reed breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Dion Reed was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Kamran Mazhar showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-4 in the 86 minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ayaz Sajid got free with Dion Reed in the 90th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ayaz Sajid's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dion Reed read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 92nd minute of play. Northallerton's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
