When Azghar Ghufyan came up free with the goalie in the 4th minute, the Chelmsford United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Azghar Ghufyan couldn't finish the play. Umair Khan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Seth Chambers having to interfere. 8 minutes into the match, Harlow United's goal looked a bit too open when Rahman Tabeer came free, but Seth Chambers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rahman Tabeer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 14th minute of the match Kadir Yönet shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Seth Chambers showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 19th minute, Rahman Tabeer managed to get in a good position for a shot. Chelmsford United's supporters rose to their feet, but Rahman Tabeer was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Seth Chambers breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 20 played minutes Harlow United got a freekick which was hit by Vern Rowe. Chelmsford United's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Lennie Saunders 27 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-0. With a little luck, Chelmsford United's Erenay Özben got control of the ball when Marlon Peacock tried to sneak it across the goal line. Erenay Özben made an important save on a dangerous shot by Marlon Peacock in the 35th minute. If Rahman Tabeer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Harlow United's zone, Umair Khan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Seth Chambers came out of the goal and Umair Khan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Kamran Shakir's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Seth Chambers read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 52nd minute of play. Kamran Shakir fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Seth Chambers having to interfere. Marlon Peacock charged in rather forcefully in the 56th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Marlon Peacock the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Marlon Peacock kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. Chelmsford United were awarded a corner in the 59th minute after Harlow United's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Kadir Yönet took the corner. In the 60th match minute, Chelmsford United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Freddie Runeberg to maneuver through the defense. Seth Chambers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rahman Tabeer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 66th match minute, Harlow United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Frankie Newby to maneuver through the defense. If Göktuğ Baykutay had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Erenay Özben showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kenny Pitts in the 72nd minute of the match. In the 79th minute, Denis Baxter made a precise shot to the right of Erenay Özben. Chelmsford United's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. Danny Hunter's late challenge caught a Chelmsford United's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Danny Hunter helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Chelmsford United booed when Harlow United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Danny Hunter didn't get a good kick on the ball. Kadir Yönet took the ball and in the 88 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Seth Chambers. Seth Chambers dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-1. Erenay Özben didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Vern Rowe went, in the 93rd minute, to the upper right corner, 4-1 was the resulting score. Chelmsford United's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
