A collision led to Sandbach getting a freekick after 2 minutes play. Farooq Rasheed hit a great ball. Zaib Mushtaq fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ruben Whitehead having to interfere. Ruben Whitehead showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zaib Mushtaq in the 12th minute of the match. Hakim ul-Hassan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Zaib Mushtaq blasted a shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ruben Whitehead having to make a save. Ruben Whitehead made an important save on a dangerous shot by Hakim ul-Hassan in the 17th minute. Rory Haywood sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, Shoeburyness AFC's Ruben Whitehead got control of the ball when Hakim ul-Hassan tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 35th minute Zaib Mushtaq shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ruben Whitehead saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ruben Whitehead made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zaib Mushtaq in the 40th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Sandbach's Shabir Kashif got a free kick in the 42nd minute. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The wind increased when Rory Haywood made the kick off in the second half. Nathan Dearden sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Hakim ul-Hassan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ruben Whitehead came out of the goal in the 60th minute to try and stop a shot by Sandbach's Zaib Mushtaq. But to his dismay, Zaib Mushtaq quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Ruben Whitehead showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hakim ul-Hassan in the 65th minute of the match. If Zaib Mushtaq had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rory Haywood sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 82 played minutes Sandbach got a freekick which was hit by Shabir Kashif. In the 92nd minute, Zaib Mushtaq got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 93rd minute, Zaib Mushtaq ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ruben Whitehead was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 97th minute, Hakim ul-Hassan managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sandbach's supporters rose to their feet, but Hakim ul-Hassan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ruben Whitehead breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Sandbach fully deserved thier win.
