Through an outstanding action, after 5 minutes, Saher Bo Shehri successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. The supporters of Ashtead FC booed when Goldthorpe was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Shaker Al Ghanem didn't get a good kick on the ball. 8 minutes into the game, Majed Al Hashash was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ashtead FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Goldthorpe the free kick. In the 8th minute, Majed Al Hashash hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 9 played minutes Goldthorpe got a freekick which was hit by Hamzah Al Mahmed. In the 10th minute, Abdulatif Al Shemali ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Saher Bo Shehri was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. 14 minutes into the match, Ashtead FC's goal looked a bit too open when Hani Kakoli came free, but Shabeb Shadad reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sanad Al Habshi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jalal Al Najdi struck a weak shot in the 17th minute. Saher Bo Shehri didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ashtead FC. Jalal Al Najdi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jalal Al Najdi in the 27th minute of play forced Goldthorpe's goalkeeper Saher Bo Shehri to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hani Kakoli sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Goldthorpe's Ghanim Al Motaire got a free kick in the 31st minute. After 32 played minutes Ashtead FC got a freekick which was hit by Jalal Al Najdi. The audience thought a goal was coming when Abdulatif Al Shemali got free with Saher Bo Shehri in the 40th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Saher Bo Shehri took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jalal Al Najdi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jalal Al Najdi stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Hani Kakoli had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Shabeb Shadad tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Waleed Al Matrok during the 73rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 76 minutes of play, Ashtead FC's Jalal Al Najdi made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Saher Bo Shehri was left in no man's land by his defense there! 81 minutes into the match, Ashtead FC's Jalal Al Najdi sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Saher Bo Shehri narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Goldthorpe's Ghanim Al Motaire got a free kick in the 82nd minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jalal Al Najdi in the 89th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Saher Bo Shehri prevented the ball from getting in the gole.
