Spectators: 7852 (Terracing: 5890, Seating: 1806, VIP seats: 156) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Faleh Bahbhani started the match with the kick off. After 3 minutes, Hassan Al Shati mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Darwen and the Abu Dhabi VT players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 3 played minutes Darwen got a freekick which was hit by Hassan Al Shati. Abu Dhabi VT's Doaej Al Mofede shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 4th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Mazen Al Dosery but with some difficulty. 9 minutes into the game, Darwen's Mamdouh Al Mulaifi nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Younis Jiragh made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. With an all-out effort, Abu Dhabi VT's Mazen Al Dosery threw himself towards the right post 12 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Hassan Bo Shehri, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After 15 played minutes Abu Dhabi VT got a freekick which was hit by Anas Khorshed. Abu Dhabi VT's Younis Jiragh played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ali Al Hammady in the 22nd minute of play. If Aqel Al Balool had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Hamad Al Banai during the 25th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Hamad Al Banai hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. Ali Al Hammady took the ball and in the 28 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Younis Jiragh. Younis Jiragh dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ali Al Hammady in the 35th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Younis Jiragh saved Abu Dhabi VT from getting behind. After some fancy dribbling in the 36th minute, Aqel Al Balool managed to get in a good position for a shot. Abu Dhabi VT's supporters rose to their feet, but Aqel Al Balool was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mazen Al Dosery breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 39 minutes into the match, Darwen's goal looked a bit too open when Faleh Bahbhani came free, but Mazen Al Dosery reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Aesem Al Shati struck a weak shot in the 41st minute. Mazen Al Dosery didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Abu Dhabi VT. Abu Dhabi VT's Younis Jiragh played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mamdouh Al Jarah in the 46th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Monther Al Sharaf made the kick off in the second half. Younis Jiragh showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Monther Al Sharaf in the 51st minute of the match. Mazen Al Dosery took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Faleh Bahbhani, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mosalam Al Azmi kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. 58 minutes into the match, Abu Dhabi VT's goalkeeper Younis Jiragh had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ali Al Hammady. Younis Jiragh made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Monther Al Sharaf in the 59th minute of play. Mazen Al Dosery stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Faleh Bahbhani's shot from short distance in the 60th minute. Mazen Al Dosery took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Faleh Bahbhani, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 66th minute, Darwen's Monther Al Sharaf dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-3. Younis Jiragh made a fantastic save in the 70th minute, when Ali Al Hammady sent off a good shot on target. Mazen Al Dosery showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aqel Al Balool in the 73rd minute of the match. In the 74th minute, Ali Al Hammady got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of Darwen booed when Abu Dhabi VT was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Doaej Al Mofede didn't get a good kick on the ball. Younis Jiragh made a fantastic save in the 76th minute, when Ali Al Hammady sent off a good shot on target. Yahya Bo Shehri kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 84th minute, Monther Al Sharaf managed to get in a good position for a shot. Darwen's supporters rose to their feet, but Monther Al Sharaf was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. When the final whistle went the supporters of Darwen were delighted that their team had defeated the much more dominant Abu Dhabi VT side.
