Cowley's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Konstantin Handirov received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Rafael Akinfeev tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Cowley's zone, Konstantin Handirov stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rafael Akinfeev came out of the goal and Konstantin Handirov tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ernest Angileev's late challenge caught a Hampton in Arden AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ernest Angileev helped the player get up and apologised. In the 28th minute, one of Cowley:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Cowley. The referee gave Hampton in Arden AFC a penalty, 30 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Evgeniy Konovalov, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Cowley's Rafael Akinfeev. 0-2. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Konstantin Handirov in the 36th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rafael Akinfeev saved Cowley from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Veniamin Abuhov in the 39th minute of play forced Cowley's goalkeeper Rafael Akinfeev to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Veniamin Abuhov received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Rafael Akinfeev tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Konstantin Handirov came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the Hampton in Arden AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Konstantin Handirov couldn't finish the play.

Veniamin Abuhov could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 53rd minute of the match, but Rafael Akinfeev made a huge save. In the 55th minute, Hampton in Arden AFC's Konstantin Handirov ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Rafael Akinfeev. Rafael Akinfeev yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-3. In the 59th minute Albert Malyutin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arkadiy Mishulin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Foma Kunin hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. Irakliy Statsenko blasted a shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Arkadiy Mishulin having to make a save. Arkadiy Mishulin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Albert Malyutin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Irakliy Statsenko had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 78th minute, Albert Malyutin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Rafael Akinfeev made an important save on a dangerous shot by Veniamin Abuhov in the 84th minute. Rafael Akinfeev was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Veniamin Abuhov showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-4 in the 94 minute of play. The Hampton in Arden AFC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Hampton in Arden AFC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
