Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Vladislav Shelepin in the 22nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Claes Hedström prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Vladislav Shelepin blasted a shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Claes Hedström having to make a save. Through an outstanding action, after 28 minutes, Claes Hedström successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Vladislav Shelepin who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 33rdth minute tested the skills of Claes Hedström when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Saveliy Dubchak recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 41 minutes, Vladislav Shelepin managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Astana United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vladislav Shelepin was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Claes Hedström was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Vladislav Shelepin showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-0 in the 46 minute of play.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ruslan Kudryavtsev to strike the kick off in the second half. Roman Lukin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Claes Hedström tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Vladislav Shelepin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Ruslan Kudryavtsev fell near the penalty area in the 54th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Wigston's protests and gave Ruslan Kudryavtsev a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Wigston getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Astana United's supporters rose to their feet, but Stepan Arakelyan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post.
