If Vern Thornton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Pierre Medley in the 31st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ralph Harris saved Juventus FC from getting behind. 35 minutes into the match, Juventus FC's goalkeeper Ralph Harris had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Vern Thornton. When Chaz Bateson fell near the penalty area in the 41st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Juventus FC's protests and gave Chaz Bateson a yellow card for diving instead. Chaz Bateson hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. When Shireoaks FC's Vern Thornton, in the 46th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Shireoaks FC. If Vern Thornton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Guy Davis to make the kick off. 61 minutes into the match, Shireoaks FC's goal looked a bit too open when Guy Davis came free, but Damian Price reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Juventus FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Pierre Medley was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Damian Price made a fantastic save in the 73rd minute, when Mark Challis sent off a good shot on target. Vern Thornton blasted a shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ralph Harris having to make a save. After a rather tough play, Juventus FC's Cliff Gibbons got a free kick in the 77th minute. 78 minutes into the game, Shireoaks FC's Vern Thornton nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ralph Harris made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. Damian Price made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Guy Davis in the 82nd minute of play. Pierre Medley fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ralph Harris having to interfere. In the 85th match minute, Juventus FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Chaz Bateson to maneuver through the defense. Juventus FC's Ralph Harris played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pierre Medley in the 86th minute of play.
