The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 10 minutes into the match, Halton Holegate's goalkeeper Ralf Sewell had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ben Furniss. Martyn Colt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edward Hilton having to interfere. If Harvey Walmsley had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ralf Sewell made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ben Furniss in the 18th minute. The supporters of Halton Holegate booed when Carlton in Lindrick was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Brandon Frost didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jasper Guest kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. In the 27th minute Harvey Walmsley shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edward Hilton saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ralf Sewell showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Andrew Byfield in the 30th minute of the match. Justin Truscott charged in rather forcefully in the 35th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Justin Truscott the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Justin Truscott hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. After 38 played minutes Halton Holegate got a freekick which was hit by Jasper Guest. Carlton in Lindrick's Austin Crittenden couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 39th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Halton Holegate. After a defensive mix-up in Halton Holegate's zone, Ben Furniss stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ralf Sewell came out of the goal and Ben Furniss tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Ben Furniss fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ralf Sewell having to interfere. When Jordan Higgins fell near the penalty area in the 53rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Carlton in Lindrick's protests and gave Jordan Higgins a yellow card for diving instead. Jordan Higgins hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. Andrew Byfield received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Ralf Sewell tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 69 played minutes Carlton in Lindrick got a freekick which was hit by Zack Jones. Sid Bakewell took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 76th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Ralf Sewell. Halton Holegate's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Harvey Walmsley received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Edward Hilton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 84th minute, Martyn Colt got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 89th minute Ben Furniss shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ralf Sewell saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Martyn Colt in the 92nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Edward Hilton prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 95th minute the ball was on its way in behind Carlton in Lindrick's goalkeeper Edward Hilton, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
