Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Jon Barraclough kicked off to start the match. 8 minutes into the match, Jon Barraclough notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Hucknall's Jermaine Crowther. Jermaine Crowther was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After a defensive mix-up in Hucknall's zone, Jon Barraclough stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jermaine Crowther came out of the goal and Jon Barraclough tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Morpeth's Darius Symons suffered a concussion after 13 minutes and had to leave the field. In the 14th match minute, Hucknall was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gordon Forrest to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Danny Appleton in the 15th minute of play forced Hucknall's goalkeeper Jermaine Crowther to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jermaine Crowther came out of the goal in the 18th minute to try and stop a shot by Morpeth's Danny Appleton. But to his dismay, Danny Appleton quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Danny Appleton fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jermaine Crowther having to interfere. In the 25th minute, Tyrone Pallister got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Eric Leach kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. Jermaine Crowther showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Danny Appleton, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. After 32 played minutes Morpeth got a freekick which was hit by Jon Barraclough. In the 33rd minute, Ken Sullivan got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Morpeth's Tyrone Pallister got a good chance for a goal in the 41st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 45 played minutes Hucknall got a freekick which was hit by Jermaine Lineker. In the 46th minute of the match Albert Garforth shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jermaine Crowther showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ken Sullivan was the one to do the kick off. Jermaine Crowther made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Danny Appleton in the 55th minute of play. Jon Barraclough charged in rather forcefully in the 59th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jon Barraclough the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 59 played minutes Morpeth got a freekick which was hit by Jon Barraclough. If Tyrone Pallister had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Jon Barraclough came up free with the goalie in the 68th minute, the Morpeth fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jon Barraclough couldn't finish the play. With his leg Jermaine Crowther managed to avoid a goal in the 69thth minute, when Morpeth's Danny Appleton fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Eric Leach charged in rather forcefully in the 74th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Eric Leach the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Hucknall getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Eric Leach hit a great ball. Danny Appleton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Gaz Blakeley came up free with the goalie in the 77th minute, the Morpeth fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gaz Blakeley couldn't finish the play. Jon Barraclough struck a weak shot in the 84th minute. Jermaine Crowther didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Morpeth. With his leg Jermaine Crowther managed to avoid a goal in the 91stth minute, when Morpeth's Danny Appleton fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Greg Hayes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bryan Bourton in the 94th minute of the match. If Jon Barraclough had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
