Tettenhall Stadium
Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000,
Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Tettenhall United's Nigel Cawood started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Nigel Cawood had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 10th minute, Nigel Cawood fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Syd Holden fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Martin Ambrose having to interfere. In the 14th match minute, Arsenal Football Club was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kyle Alsop to maneuver through the defense. Gregory Fox received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Martin Ambrose tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 23rd minute Nigel Cawood shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Martin Ambrose saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Robin Pitts showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alf Froggatt in the 26th minute of the match. In the 27th match minute, Tettenhall United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ricky Bannister to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alf Froggatt in the 29th minute of play forced Tettenhall United's goalkeeper Robin Pitts to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Nigel Cawood's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Martin Ambrose was relentless in the 32nd minute of the game. 41 minutes into the match, Tettenhall United's goal looked a bit too open when Dave Robinson came free, but Robin Pitts reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 44 minutes into the match, Gregory Fox had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Martin Ambrose. Arsenal Football Club's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gregory Fox was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Alf Froggatt stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Nigel Cawood received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Martin Ambrose tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nigel Cawood in the 57th minute of play forced Arsenal Football Club's goalkeeper Martin Ambrose to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 59 minutes into the game, Nigel Cawood cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Martin Ambrose was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gregory Fox in the 62nd minute of play forced Arsenal Football Club's goalkeeper Martin Ambrose to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 67 played minutes Arsenal Football Club got a freekick which was hit by Callum Couzens. Kelvin Wellings was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 67th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Arsenal Football Club's Martin Ambrose played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gregory Fox in the 69th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gregory Fox in the 75th minute of play forced Arsenal Football Club's goalkeeper Martin Ambrose to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 77th minute the ball was on its way in behind Tettenhall United's goalkeeper Robin Pitts, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After having played for 85 minutes, Gregory Fox managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tettenhall United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gregory Fox was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Alf Froggatt was extremely unlucky when he, in the 88th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Martin Ambrose took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gregory Fox, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 94th minute, Alf Froggatt ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Robin Pitts was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. When the referee ended the match the Tettenhall United players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
