Bedlington's Jimmy Flack played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gregory Fox in the 11th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Billy Eastwood in the 15th minute of play forced Tettenhall United's goalkeeper Robin Pitts to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Robin Pitts breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 48th minute, Gregory Fox ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jimmy Flack was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Billy Eastwood to strike the kick off in the second half. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Kelvin Wellings during the 55th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Bedlington's supporters crossed their fingers, but Spike Corby was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Ross Hay had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 92 played minutes Bedlington got a freekick which was hit by Billy Eastwood. Jimmy Flack was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 93rd minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Kelvin Wellings. Gregory Fox took the ball and in the 97 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jimmy Flack. Jimmy Flack dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-3. The Bedlington supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Tettenhall United's performance. The match ended with a win for Tettenhall United.
