Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Hucknall's Ken Sullivan started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 3 minutes into the match, Hucknall's goal looked a bit too open when Barry Downes came free, but Jermaine Crowther reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bryan Bourton got free with Larry Langsford in the 7th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Geoff Ridsdale sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Barry Downes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jermaine Crowther having to interfere. In the 14th minute Geoff Ridsdale shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jermaine Crowther saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Eric Leach kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Geoff Ridsdale in the 22nd minute of play forced Hucknall's goalkeeper Jermaine Crowther to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Barry Downes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jermaine Crowther having to interfere. Bryan Bourton might have been able to make a better finish in the 28th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Larry Langsford. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Bryan Bourton ran back to his position shaking his head. Geoff Ridsdale's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jermaine Crowther read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 35th minute of play. Eric Leach's late challenge caught a Bangladeño's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Eric Leach helped the player get up and apologised. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Geoff Ridsdale was the one to do the kick off. Larry Langsford made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ken Sullivan in the 56th minute of play. If Geoff Ridsdale had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 62 minutes into the game, Gordon Forrest was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Hucknall's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Bangladeño the free kick. Gordon Forrest kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. After recieving a nice pass, Bangladeño's Johnnie Jefferson tried to score from far away in the 63rd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Hucknall's Jermaine Crowther proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 64th minute of the match, managed to save Hucknall from getting a goal against them. After a rather tough play, Hucknall's Eric Leach got a free kick in the 66th minute. Larry Langsford took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ken Sullivan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Bangladeño getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Len Noble hit a great ball. In the 70th minute Ken Sullivan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Larry Langsford saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Geoff Ridsdale sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Len Noble during the 94th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Bangladeño's Len Noble got a free kick in the 94th minute. Thom Morcom was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 95th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
