Tod Gale made an important save on a dangerous shot by Barry Downes in the 3rd minute. Tod Gale made a fantastic save in the 12th minute, when Barry Downes sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Phillip Dove in the 15th minute of play forced Bangladeño's goalkeeper Larry Langsford to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Larry Langsford took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Geoff Sullivan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 25th minute Phillip Dove shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Larry Langsford saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ken Eyre hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. Larry Langsford made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Geoff Sullivan in the 27th minute of play. When the match clock showed 29 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Geoff Sullivan sped through Bangladeño's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Larry Langsford. Calvin Boyd charged in rather forcefully in the 33rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Calvin Boyd the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Geoff Ridsdale received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Tod Gale tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 41 minutes into the match, Geoff Ridsdale dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Tod Gale, 1-1. Geoff Sullivan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 45th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 46 played minutes Bangladeño got a freekick which was hit by Ken Eyre. Larry Langsford made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Phillip Dove in the 47th minute of play.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Geoff Sullivan to make the kick off. Phillip Dove's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 51stth minute, Larry Langsford skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Larry Langsford made a fantastic save in the 53rd minute, when Phillip Dove sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of Chelmsford booed when Bangladeño was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ken Eyre didn't get a good kick on the ball. Chelmsford were awarded a corner in the 67th minute after Bangladeño's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Lance Pearson took the corner. The corner led Chelmsford's Lance Pearson to fire away a dangerous shot which Larry Langsford despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. 73 minutes into the game, Ken Eyre was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Bangladeño's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Chelmsford the free kick. After a rather tough play, Bangladeño's Ken Eyre got a free kick in the 74th minute. Phillip Dove in the 78thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Larry Langsford, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Phillip Dove struck a weak shot in the 80th minute. Larry Langsford didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Chelmsford. After some fancy dribbling in the 83rd minute, Phillip Dove managed to get in a good position for a shot. Chelmsford's supporters rose to their feet, but Phillip Dove was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Larry Langsford breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 89 played minutes Bangladeño got a freekick which was hit by Ken Eyre. A collision led to Chelmsford getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Stan Leather hit a great ball.
