After a defensive mix-up in Swanmore's zone, Ricky Oldham stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bob Watson came out of the goal and Ricky Oldham tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Danny Beerman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Sid Osborn received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Vincent Frampton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ricky Oldham could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 14th minute of the match, but Bob Watson made a huge save. When Warren Newland came up free with the goalie in the 18th minute, the Swanmore fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Warren Newland couldn't finish the play. In the 22nd minute Oscar Lowe shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bob Watson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 26th minute Jeremy Hampton shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bob Watson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Vincent Frampton showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Danny Beerman in the 30th minute of the match. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ricky Oldham to make the kick off. Stevie Milligan hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. If Danny Beerman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Alfred Hutchins kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. When the match had gone on for 69 minutes, Warren Newland took a quick shot and it went in 0-1 without a chance for Vincent Frampton to make any attempt to save it. Miles Chiverton's late challenge caught a Swanmore's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Miles Chiverton helped the player get up and apologised. Danny Beerman in the 79thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Vincent Frampton, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Ozzy Wagstaff made a great header on Swanmore's corner, it was just that Castletown's Vincent Frampton managed to reach the ball for a save. Oscar Lowe sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
