When the match clock showed 12 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Deon Blakeley sped through Southeast Coast FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Joseph Bannister. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Deon Blakeley in the 14th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Joseph Bannister prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 29th minute, Southeast Coast FC's Max Linkletter ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Will Glasby. Will Glasby yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-2. The referee felt a red card was in order, 34 minutes into the game, when Kris Stone put in a rough tackle. In the 33rd minute, one of Howden:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Howden. Will Glasby made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Max Linkletter in the 44th minute of play. If Deon Blakeley had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Doug Briant during the 53rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 53 played minutes Southeast Coast FC got a freekick which was hit by Doug Briant. In the 54th minute of the match Syd Wicks sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Joseph Bannister skillfully saved the ball. Southeast Coast FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Howden the free kick. The goalkeeper, Joseph Bannister, was totally fooled by Howden's Syd Wicks, who 85 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Southeast Coast FC's Joseph Bannister proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 89th minute of the match, managed to save Southeast Coast FC from getting a goal against them. After 92 played minutes Howden got a freekick which was hit by Marc Crowther. Howden were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Southeast Coast FC's much stronger midfield.
