Spectators: 7500 (Terracing: 5625, Seating: 1725, VIP seats: 150) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Ricky Oldham kicked off to start the match. Greg Paine showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ricky Oldham in the 3rd minute of the match. Oscar Lowe blasted a shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Greg Paine having to make a save. After some careless play in the Castletown defense, John Pollard kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Vincent Frampton. The Castletown fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Vincent Frampton should have stopped the shot. If Oscar Lowe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Greg Paine showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Oscar Lowe in the 23rd minute of the match. The supporters of Castletown booed when Walmley AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wally Ellershaw didn't get a good kick on the ball. Greg Paine made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Oscar Lowe in the 31st minute of play. Ricky Oldham fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Greg Paine having to interfere. In a very dangerous position, a player in Walmley AFC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 38th minute. Penalty! Greg Paine didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ricky Oldham went, in the 43rd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Wally Ellershaw stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Walmley AFC's Greg Paine played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Oscar Lowe in the 55th minute of play. Castletown's Andrew Howard was substituted for Ricky Oldham. A collision led to Walmley AFC getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Damion Dumpleton hit a great ball. In the 59th minute, Damion Dumpleton hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With his leg Greg Paine managed to avoid a goal in the 70thth minute, when Castletown's Andrew Howard fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Greg Paine showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jordan Easton, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. 75 minutes into the match, Walmley AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Oscar Lowe came free, but Greg Paine reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Andrew Howard struck a weak shot in the 76th minute. Greg Paine didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Castletown. In the 78th minute, Oscar Lowe reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Greg Paine. The goal made the score 1-3. The audience thought a goal was coming when Andrew Howard got free with Greg Paine in the 80th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Castletown's Terry Tipton was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Greg Paine in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. If Andrew Howard had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 92nd minute, Jeremy Hampton ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Greg Paine was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-4. Andrew Howard came free with the goalkeeper in the 96th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Greg Paine could save by the left post. Greg Paine was a little too slow when Andrew Howard got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 96th minute. The score was now 1-5. Castletown's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
