Clive Bowler's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 3rdth minute, Jonny Hicks skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Clive Bowler did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-0 to the left of a surprised Jonny Hicks 5 minutes into the match. With a little luck, Maradona FC's Jonny Hicks got control of the ball when Clive Bowler tried to sneak it across the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Stefan Moyse during the 9th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 9th minute, Stefan Moyse hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 17 minutes into the game, Maradona FC's Walter Atkinson nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Les Gibbs made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. In the 21stth minute of the game Walter Atkinson who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Beckton's Les Gibbs was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 25th minute, Rupert Warburton reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Jonny Hicks. The goal made the score 3-1. Clive Bowlers short, quick shot in the 32ndth minute got Jonny Hicks to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After 33 minutes of play, Beckton's Nigel Hodgson made it 4-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jonny Hicks was left in no man's land by his defense there! Jonny Hicks made an important save on a dangerous shot by Nigel Hodgson in the 36th minute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 4-1 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Walter Atkinson to strike the kick off in the second half. Walter Atkinson hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. In the 52nd match minute, Beckton was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rupert Warburton to maneuver through the defense. In the 53rd minute, Clive Bowler hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The Beckton fans' excitement grew in the 57th match minute when Beckton's Clive Bowler looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 5-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After a rather tough play, Maradona FC's Jeremy Potter got a free kick in the 64th minute. In the 65th minute Clive Bowler shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonny Hicks saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Geoff Land hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. When Rowan Watson fell near the penalty area in the 75th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Maradona FC's protests and gave Rowan Watson a yellow card for diving instead. In the 75th minute, Rowan Watson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Beckton's Wayne Radcliffe was substituted for Johnnie Bennett. After 76 played minutes Maradona FC got a freekick which was hit by Rowan Watson. Jonny Hicks showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Clive Bowler in the 79th minute of the match. Clive Bowler recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 80th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jonny Hicks made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Clive Bowler in the 81st minute of play. The supporters of Beckton booed when Maradona FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Timothy Colbert didn't get a good kick on the ball. Clive Bowler succeeded in the game's 84th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 6-2. Nigel Hodgson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonny Hicks having to interfere. If Clive Bowler had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Beckton's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
