Spectators: 8000 (Terracing: 6000, Seating: 1840, VIP seats: 160) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Tommy Byfield made the kick off which started today's match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tommy Byfield in the 6th minute of play forced Castletown's goalkeeper Vincent Frampton to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Oscar Lowe fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Will Glasby having to interfere. Will Glasby came out of the goal in the 11th minute to try and stop a shot by Castletown's Oscar Lowe. But to his dismay, Oscar Lowe quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Oscar Lowe during the 15th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Oscar Lowe kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. Vincent Frampton stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Deon Blakeley's shot from short distance in the 16th minute. Vincent Frampton made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tommy Byfield in the 21st minute of play. In the 25th match minute, Castletown was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ricky Oldham to maneuver through the defense. Deon Blakeley fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vincent Frampton having to interfere. Vincent Frampton took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tommy Byfield, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Castletown's Jordan Easton got a free kick in the 30th minute. Ricky Oldham fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Will Glasby having to interfere. 40 minutes into the game, Howden's Deon Blakeley nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Vincent Frampton made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Vincent Frampton took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tommy Byfield, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ricky Oldham stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the game, Deon Blakeley recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Vincent Frampton. Deon Blakeley showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-2. Vincent Frampton made a fantastic save in the 64th minute, when Deon Blakeley sent off a good shot on target. Deon Blakeley fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vincent Frampton having to interfere. The supporters of Castletown booed when Howden was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tommy Byfield didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 70 played minutes Tommy Byfield rounded Castletown's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-3. In the 73rd minute, Howden's Tommy Byfield ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Vincent Frampton. Vincent Frampton yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-4. Vincent Frampton showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tommy Byfield, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. Tommy Byfield fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vincent Frampton having to interfere. Jordan Easton hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Deon Blakeley got free with Vincent Frampton in the 87th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 92 minutes, Terry Tipton mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Castletown and the Howden players grew even worse after the yellow card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 92nd minute of the game. One of Castletown:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Howden:s goal. In the 94th minute there was a penalty for Howden. Syd Wicks stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Vincent Frampton. 1-5. If Deon Blakeley had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Howden eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
