In the 9th match minute, Uffington was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tristan Southgate to maneuver through the defense. Beckton's Clive Bowler was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 9th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Rupert Warburton hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. When Darren Pennant came up free with the goalie in the 14th minute, the Uffington fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Darren Pennant couldn't finish the play. Johnnie Bennett struck a weak shot in the 19th minute. Alastair Hartley didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Beckton. When Clive Bowler came up free with the goalie in the 23rd minute, the Beckton fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Clive Bowler couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Uffington booed when Beckton was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Clive Bowler didn't get a good kick on the ball. Les Gibbs stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Darren Pennant's shot from short distance in the 31st minute. A collision led to Uffington getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Tristan Southgate hit a great ball. A hard shot by Rupert Warburton from long distance, 35 minutes into the match, got Alastair Hartley's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Clive Bowler fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alastair Hartley having to interfere. After 40 minutes, Clive Bowler made it 3-0 with a short kick to the right side. Uffington's Alastair Hartley tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Clive Bowler received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Alastair Hartley tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

The audience was convinced that Clive Bowler's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Alastair Hartley was relentless in the 53rd minute of the game. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Clive Bowler in the 56th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Alastair Hartley prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Nigel Hodgson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ruben Browning during the 61st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 61 played minutes Uffington got a freekick which was hit by Ruben Browning. If Clive Bowler had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alastair Hartley showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Clive Bowler, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. 73 minutes into the game, Clive Bowler cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-0. Alastair Hartley was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Beckton made a substitution. Jo Norton replaced Rupert Warburton. Beckton's Wayne Radcliffe was substituted for Johnnie Bennett. The supporters of Uffington booed when Beckton was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Beckton had played much better football throughout.
