Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Wally Ellershaw started the match with the kick off. In the 3rd minute, Tommy Byfield reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Greg Paine. The goal made the score 1-0. In the 7th minute Tommy Byfield shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Greg Paine saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Howden's Will Glasby played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by John Pollard in the 10th minute of play. 14 minutes into the match, Howden's goal looked a bit too open when Wally Ellershaw came free, but Will Glasby reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tommy Byfield recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 16th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Deon Blakeley received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Greg Paine tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Wally Ellershaw sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Will Glasby showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luke Bridgeworth in the 31st minute of the match. Tommy Byfield struck a weak shot in the 34th minute. Greg Paine didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Howden. Greg Paine made an important save on a dangerous shot by Deon Blakeley in the 41st minute. If Deon Blakeley had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 46th match minute, Walmley AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Joel Blackburn to maneuver through the defense. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Tommy Byfield made a kick off. Greg Paine showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tommy Byfield in the 51st minute of the match. In the 55th minute Tommy Byfield shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Greg Paine saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 59th minute, Alec Boothroyd hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. John Pollard sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Howden's Will Glasby proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 63rd minute of the match, managed to save Howden from getting a goal against them. 66 minutes into the match, Howden's Tommy Byfield sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Greg Paine narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Walmley AFC's zone, Deon Blakeley stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Greg Paine came out of the goal and Deon Blakeley tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Tommy Byfield sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when John Pollard got free with Will Glasby in the 77th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Greg Paine showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tommy Byfield, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. Greg Paine made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tommy Byfield in the 82nd minute of play. 83 minutes into the game, Luke Bridgeworth was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Walmley AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Howden the free kick. Luke Bridgeworth kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. When Tommy Byfield came up free with the goalie in the 93rd minute, the Howden fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tommy Byfield couldn't finish the play. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Howden had won after a very even match.
