Alexander Downing received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Lenny Beadel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Rackenford AFC getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Garry Borrowdale hit a great ball. Brian Ridsdale fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lenny Beadel having to interfere. When Brian Ridsdale came up free with the goalie in the 14th minute, the Fakenham fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Brian Ridsdale couldn't finish the play. Charlie Hird made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vinnie Osbourne in the 16th minute of play. Jerome Barber might have been able to make a better finish in the 19th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Charlie Hird. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jerome Barber ran back to his position shaking his head. Vinnie Osbourne struck a weak shot in the 22nd minute. Charlie Hird didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Rackenford AFC. Charlie Hird made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. When Alexander Downing came up free with the goalie in the 32nd minute, the Fakenham fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alexander Downing couldn't finish the play. Brian Ridsdale recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 35th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Garry Borrowdale's late challenge caught a Fakenham's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Garry Borrowdale helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Fakenham booed when Rackenford AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Garry Borrowdale didn't get a good kick on the ball. Brian Ridsdale blasted a shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Lenny Beadel having to make a save.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jerome Barber was the one to do the kick off. Alexander Downing struck a weak shot in the 51st minute. Lenny Beadel didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Fakenham. In the 62nd minute Jerome Barber shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Charlie Hird saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jerome Barber in the 63rd minute of play forced Fakenham's goalkeeper Charlie Hird to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alexander Downing's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Lenny Beadel read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 67th minute of play. Charlie Hird didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 69th minute, which inside left pole to 0-2. When Vinnie Osbourne came up free with the goalie in the 79th minute, the Rackenford AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vinnie Osbourne couldn't finish the play. Jerome Barber sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Vinnie Osbourne's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Charlie Hird firmly grabbed it by the left post. Charlie Hird showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jerome Barber in the 92nd minute of the match. Vinnie Osbourne's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Charlie Hird read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 95th minute of play.
