When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ian Haines made a kick off. Alexander Fountain received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Robin Laycock tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rod Crossley helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Herne Bay FC booed when Binsted was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rod Crossley didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 95 played minutes Binsted got a freekick which was hit by Glenn Almond. When the final whistle sounded Binsted left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Herne Bay FC.
