The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Gus Winstanley kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. 16 minutes into the match, Fakenham's goal looked a bit too open when Stephen Partridge came free, but Charlie Hird reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Fakenham's Russell Bentley got a free kick in the 16th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 17th minute, Damon Moyse managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ludlow FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Damon Moyse was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Charlie Hird breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Alexander Downing came up free with the goalie in the 24th minute, the Fakenham fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alexander Downing couldn't finish the play. Charlie Hird made an important save on a dangerous shot by Damon Moyse in the 27th minute. Stephen Partridge recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 30th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 32 minutes into the match, Fakenham's goal looked a bit too open when Stephen Partridge came free, but Charlie Hird reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Stephen Partridge in the 36th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Charlie Hird prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Charlie Hird made an important save on a dangerous shot by Damon Moyse in the 45th minute. When the match had gone on for 46 minutes, Stephen Partridge took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Charlie Hird to make any attempt to save it. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Brian Ridsdale to make the kick off. With his leg Spike Collier managed to avoid a goal in the 54thth minute, when Fakenham's Alexander Downing fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Stephen Partridge recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 55th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Damon Moyse blasted a shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Charlie Hird having to make a save. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Damon Moyse in the 58th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Charlie Hird prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Damon Moyse had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 64th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ludlow FC's goalkeeper Spike Collier, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Charlie Hird took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Damon Moyse, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Fakenham's zone, Damon Moyse stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Charlie Hird came out of the goal and Damon Moyse tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Damon Moyse came up free with the goalie in the 71st minute, the Ludlow FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Damon Moyse couldn't finish the play. Danny Sledge sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 84th minute, Damon Moyse hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Stephen Partridge sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Damon Moyse received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Charlie Hird tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 92nd minute, Damon Moyse left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ludlow FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. Stephen Partridge sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the referee ended the match the Ludlow FC players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
