Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Rod Le Tissier started the match with the kick off. Leigh's Ronnie Endean got a good chance for a goal in the 4th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Trevor Featherstone showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rod Le Tissier in the 6th minute of the match. 8 minutes into the game, Hayden Poynton was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. ATTACK CLUB's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Leigh the free kick. After 8 played minutes ATTACK CLUB got a freekick which was hit by Hayden Poynton. Leigh's Barry Dobson got a good chance for a goal in the 10th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Barry Dobson kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. After 19 played minutes ATTACK CLUB got a freekick which was hit by CJ Waller. The supporters of ATTACK CLUB booed when Leigh was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dennis Baker didn't get a good kick on the ball. 32 minutes into the match, Leigh's goalkeeper Trevor Featherstone had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by CJ Waller. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rod Le Tissier in the 33rd minute of play forced Leigh's goalkeeper Trevor Featherstone to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Leigh's Trevor Featherstone proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 34th minute of the match, managed to save Leigh from getting a goal against them. In the 35th minute, ATTACK CLUB's Rod Le Tissier ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Trevor Featherstone. Trevor Featherstone yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Christian Savage kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. Zack Groves made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ronnie Endean in the 39th minute of play. In the 40th minute Dennis Baker shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zack Groves saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 44th minute, Victor Oates got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 46th minute of the match, Rod Le Tissier tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Trevor Featherstone saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

In the 54th minute, Dylan Lambert hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 62 minutes into the match, Loyd Langsford had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Zack Groves. ATTACK CLUB's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Loyd Langsford was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Victor Oates struck a weak shot in the 67th minute. Zack Groves didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Leigh. In the 71st minute, Jon Thornton hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 77th minute of the match, Dennis Baker tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Zack Groves saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Guy Frizzell kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. Dennis Baker hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. After some careless play in the Leigh defense, Rod Le Tissier kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Trevor Featherstone. The Leigh fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Trevor Featherstone should have stopped the shot. Trevor Featherstone showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rod Le Tissier, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute.
