Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Samuel Duffield got the match started through his kick off. 2 minutes into the match, Alexander Fountain dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Guy Dawson, 1-0. Guy Dawson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Piers Ripley, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. Alexander Fountain struck a weak shot in the 11th minute. Guy Dawson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Binsted. Jake Burley took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Samuel Duffield, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Eddie Notley kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Basildon's zone, Piers Ripley stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Guy Dawson came out of the goal and Piers Ripley tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Basildon's Lennie Litchfield got a free kick in the 26th minute. In the 27th minute, Kristopher Heath sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Basildon's Guy Dawson didn't even have to move. Piers Ripley sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 33 played minutes Basildon got a freekick which was hit by Lennie Litchfield. In the 36th minute of the match Binsted got a corner. Basildon's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Kristopher Heath ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led to Binsted's Piers Ripley getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. Alexander Fountain received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Guy Dawson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Crispin Bagshaw's late challenge caught a Binsted's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Crispin Bagshaw helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Binsted booed when Basildon was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Crispin Bagshaw didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 44th minute of the match Binsted got a corner. Basildon's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Kristopher Heath ran over to the corner to take the kick. Kristopher Heath made a great header on Binsted's corner, it was just that Basildon's Guy Dawson managed to reach the ball for a save. Guy Dawson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Piers Ripley, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Piers Ripley stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Binsted's Alexander Fountain got a good chance for a goal in the 58th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 62 minutes into the match, Binsted's goal looked a bit too open when Samuel Duffield came free, but Jake Burley reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Binsted's Piers Ripley in 67 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Guy Dawson guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. Guy Dawson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Piers Ripley in the 68th minute of play. In the 72nd match minute, Basildon was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lennie Litchfield to maneuver through the defense. The audience was convinced that Alexander Fountain's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Guy Dawson was relentless in the 74th minute of the game. If Piers Ripley had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Piers Ripley sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Lennie Litchfield kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. 85 minutes had been played when some careless play by Basildon's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Kristopher Heath was slow to take the kick. During this time Binsted's players had a chance to rest. Kristopher Heath made a great header on Binsted's corner, it was just that Basildon's Guy Dawson managed to reach the ball for a save. Guy Dawson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Piers Ripley, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. During the 87th minute of the match Crispin Bagshaw completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Crispin Bagshaw a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In the 88th match minute, Basildon was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Crispin Bagshaw to maneuver through the defense. Alexander Fountain fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Guy Dawson having to interfere. In the 96th minute Alexander Fountain shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Guy Dawson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the referee ended the match the Binsted players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
