Kamalodaya Dhillon started the match with the kick off. Ahannatha Pant hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. If Dharman Dambria had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Taruna Lyngdoh in the 7th minute of play forced Basingstoke FC's goalkeeper Daljit Mukherjee to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 8 played minutes Basingstoke FC got a freekick which was hit by Tejinderjeet Das. Jairath Bal might have been able to make a better finish in the 11th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Daljit Mukherjee. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jairath Bal ran back to his position shaking his head. Taruna Lyngdoh fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Daljit Mukherjee having to interfere. 14 minutes into the match, Taruna Lyngdoh notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Basingstoke FC's Daljit Mukherjee. Daljit Mukherjee was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After some fancy dribbling in the 18th minute, Jairath Bal managed to get in a good position for a shot. Fleet's supporters rose to their feet, but Jairath Bal was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Daljit Mukherjee breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 19 played minutes Basingstoke FC got a freekick which was hit by Ishao Kohli. 22 minutes into the match, Fleet's goal looked a bit too open when Kamalodaya Dhillon came free, but Taru Prewal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 29 minutes into the match, Basingstoke FC's goal looked a bit too open when Jairath Bal came free, but Daljit Mukherjee reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jairath Bal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Daljit Mukherjee tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ahannatha Pant charged in rather forcefully in the 43rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ahannatha Pant the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Basingstoke FC booed when Fleet was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ahannatha Pant didn't get a good kick on the ball. A hard, long distance shot from Jairath Bal flew over the goal.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Taruna Lyngdoh made a kick off. In the 51st minute, Nim Sra made a precise shot to the right of Taru Prewal. Fleet's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. In the 56thth minute of the game Dharman Dambria who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Fleet's Taru Prewal was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Amarleen Dambria kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. Taruna Lyngdoh spun around in front of the goal 59 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of Basingstoke FC's goal. Taru Prewal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kamalodaya Dhillon in the 68th minute of play. Fleet's Taru Prewal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kamalodaya Dhillon in the 71st minute of play. With a little luck, Basingstoke FC's Daljit Mukherjee got control of the ball when Jairath Bal tried to sneak it across the goal line. Taruna Lyngdoh fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Daljit Mukherjee having to interfere. Basingstoke FC's Daljit Mukherjee played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Taruna Lyngdoh in the 93rd minute of play. After 95 minutes of play, Basingstoke FC's Dharman Dambria made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Taru Prewal was left in no man's land by his defense there! The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
