The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Citrakarman Nijjar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Laxman Salve took the ball and in the 12 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Dharmamandhu Phom. Dharmamandhu Phom dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. In the 16th minute the ball was on its way in behind Malvern City's goalkeeper Dharmamandhu Phom, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Dalajita Nandu kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. Kakubjaya Virdee's late challenge caught a Birmingham Selly Oak United's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Kakubjaya Virdee helped the player get up and apologised. Kakubjaya Virdee hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. Citrakarman Nijjar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bhagaratha Takhar struck a weak shot in the 25th minute. Didyotisu Bangopadhyay didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Malvern City. In the 27th match minute, Birmingham Selly Oak United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gayand Thind to maneuver through the defense. 28 minutes into the match, Malvern City's Divigamana Ghai broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Laxman Salve sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 33 minutes of play, Birmingham Selly Oak United's Laxman Salve made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Dharmamandhu Phom was left in no man's land by his defense there! Didyotisu Bangopadhyay made a fantastic save in the 38th minute, when Bhagaratha Takhar sent off a good shot on target. Birmingham Selly Oak United's Laxman Salve got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 40th minute, Alolupa Chohan got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 42nd minute, Citrakarman Nijjar fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Didyotisu Bangopadhyay, passed just outside the right post. Citrakarman Nijjar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Didyotisu Bangopadhyay tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Alolupa Chohan to make the kick off. In the 50th minute, Jaivira Subba hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 52 minutes into the match, Birmingham Selly Oak United's Laxman Salve sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Dharmamandhu Phom narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 56th minute Citrakarman Nijjar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Didyotisu Bangopadhyay saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Acananas Khan during the 57th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Acananas Khan hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. The supporters of Malvern City booed when Birmingham Selly Oak United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gayand Thind didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 60th minute of the match Divigamana Ghai sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Didyotisu Bangopadhyay skillfully saved the ball. Birmingham Selly Oak United's Didyotisu Bangopadhyay played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Citrakarman Nijjar in the 61st minute of play. 64 minutes into the match, Birmingham Selly Oak United's goal looked a bit too open when Bhagaratha Takhar came free, but Didyotisu Bangopadhyay reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dharmamandhu Phom made a fantastic save in the 66th minute, when Laxman Salve sent off a good shot on target. Dharmamandhu Phom showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alolupa Chohan in the 67th minute of the match. 70 minutes into the match, Birmingham Selly Oak United's goal looked a bit too open when Citrakarman Nijjar came free, but Didyotisu Bangopadhyay reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 74 minutes in the game, Alolupa Chohan fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Dharmamandhu Phom having to interfere. After 80 minutes, Himavalluka Pal mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Malvern City and the Birmingham Selly Oak United players grew even worse after the yellow card. Kumaran Tangadavi placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! Malvern City's Bhagaratha Takhar got a good chance for a goal in the 85th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Malvern City booed when Birmingham Selly Oak United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alolupa Chohan didn't get a good kick on the ball. Alolupa Chohan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 96th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The Birmingham Selly Oak United players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
