Spectators: 7367 (Terracing: 5742, Seating: 1575, VIP seats: 50) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Buddhadeb Ralte got the match started through his kick off. In the 4th minute of the match Ramakrishna Maude shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Asirisa Chana showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Buddhadeb Ralte in the 9th minute of play forced Grimsby's goalkeeper Taru Bajaj to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Indrarajan Marathe in the 12th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Asirisa Chana prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Naginderjeet Kamle received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Asirisa Chana tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Naginderjeet Kamle in the 17th minute a chance for a shot on goal. The Lions's Asirisa Chana played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Naginderjeet Kamle in the 19th minute of play. In the 21st minute Naginderjeet Kamle shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Asirisa Chana saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 22 minutes into the match, The Lions's goal looked a bit too open when Naginderjeet Kamle came free, but Asirisa Chana reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Asirisa Chana made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Naginderjeet Kamle in the 24th minute of play. Divoja Patiala recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 25th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Grimsby's Naginderjeet Kamle in the 27th minute got a chance for a shot 27th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye The Lions's goalie prevented a goal. Grimsby's Taru Bajaj played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Buddhadeb Ralte in the 32nd minute of play. After having played for 34 minutes, Aveesh Iyer managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. The Lions's supporters crossed their fingers, but Aveesh Iyer was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 36th minute, Aveesh Iyer made a precise shot to the right of Taru Bajaj. Grimsby's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. In the 40th match minute, The Lions was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kulabhusana Bisla to maneuver through the defense. In the 44th minute, Jayprakash Ghai hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Asirisa Chana showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Divoja Patiala in the 48th minute of the match. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Naginderjeet Kamle was the one to do the kick off. Taru Bajaj came out of the goal in the 54th minute to try and stop a shot by The Lions's Buddhadeb Ralte. But to his dismay, Buddhadeb Ralte quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Buddhadeb Ralte in the 57th minute of play forced Grimsby's goalkeeper Taru Bajaj to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Divoja Patiala recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 61st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in The Lions's zone, Divoja Patiala stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Asirisa Chana came out of the goal and Divoja Patiala tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Grimsby's Indrarajan Marathe slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Asirisa Chana. That made the score 2-1 after 65 minutes of play. When Naginderjeet Kamle came up free with the goalie in the 70th minute, the Grimsby fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Naginderjeet Kamle couldn't finish the play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Divoja Patiala got free with Asirisa Chana in the 72nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The Lions's Asirisa Chana played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Naginderjeet Kamle in the 77th minute of play. Buddhadeb Ralte received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Taru Bajaj tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Indrarajan Marathe hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. If Divoja Patiala had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
