Spectators: 5020 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1010, VIP seats: 10) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Dhanajita Subba took the kick off in the first half of the match. If Abhimoda Gowda had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 9 played minutes Phoenix Fire got a freekick which was hit by Danasagara Rane. Abhimoda Gowda shot from long distance in the 10th minute, but Dhavalapaksa Saxena was prepared and stopped the ball at the left post. Hema Denzongpa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Krtsnavid Chettri, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. In the 15th minute Harikanta Dango shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hema Denzongpa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Phoenix Fire's Dhavalapaksa Saxena proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 17th minute of the match, managed to save Phoenix Fire from getting a goal against them. In the 19th minute, Abhimoda Gowda ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Dhavalapaksa Saxena was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Hema Denzongpa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dhanajita Subba, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 27 played minutes levelaen got a freekick which was hit by Harminder Mann. After 28 minutes, Harminder Mann mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the levelaen and the Phoenix Fire players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Phoenix Fire booed when levelaen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Harminder Mann didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 29 played minutes levelaen got a freekick which was hit by Krtahasta Maheshwari. Phoenix Fire's Harikanta Dango got a good chance for a goal in the 31st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 33 minutes into the match, Phoenix Fire's Dhanajita Subba sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Hema Denzongpa narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 35 minutes into the match, Dhanajita Subba notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of levelaen's Hema Denzongpa. Hema Denzongpa was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 41st match minute, levelaen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Diviraj Rani to maneuver through the defense. Dhavalapaksa Saxena came out of the goal in the 46th minute to try and stop a shot by levelaen's Abhimoda Gowda. But to his dismay, Abhimoda Gowda quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

Dhanajita Subba recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 53rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Harikanta Dango sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Abhimoda Gowda scored 3-1 in the 58th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Dhavalapaksa Saxena, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Dhavalapaksa Saxena made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Abhimoda Gowda in the 64th minute of play. Arthasadhaka Patiala kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. In the 66th minute of the match Abhimoda Gowda shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Dhavalapaksa Saxena showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Dhavalapaksa Saxena didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Abhimoda Gowda went, in the 68th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-1 was the resulting score. The supporters of levelaen booed when Phoenix Fire was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dhanajita Subba didn't get a good kick on the ball. The levelaen players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
