After 3 minutes, Druha Rani mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Luv de Lasan and the Southbourne AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 3 played minutes Luv de Lasan got a freekick which was hit by Druha Rani. After a rather tough play, Southbourne AFC's Mohanakrishnan Ganguly got a free kick in the 6th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Luv de Lasan's zone, Rati Khanna stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ikroop Lal came out of the goal and Rati Khanna tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 10 minutes, Cidrupa Lell managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Southbourne AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cidrupa Lell was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In a very dangerous position, a player in Luv de Lasan fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 13th minute. Penalty! In the 19th minute, Hasta Gupta hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sham Chakma received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Navjot Narindra tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 29 minutes into the match, Luv de Lasan's goal looked a bit too open when Adisesan Ragi came free, but Ikroop Lal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cidrupa Lell scored 0-1 in the 34th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ikroop Lal, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Navjot Narindra showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Abhranaga Kadam, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. 41 minutes into the game, Southbourne AFC's Adisesan Ragi nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ikroop Lal made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Southbourne AFC's Navjot Narindra proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 44th minute of the match, managed to save Southbourne AFC from getting a goal against them. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Luv de Lasan's Kamasrama Shahraj got a good chance for a goal in the 51st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Cidrupa Lell's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Ikroop Lal firmly grabbed it by the left post. Southbourne AFC's Adisesan Ragi got a good chance for a goal in the 62nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 64 minutes into the match, Cidrupa Lell had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ikroop Lal. Luv de Lasan's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Cidrupa Lell was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cidrupa Lell got free with Ikroop Lal in the 68th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 69 minutes into the match, Adisesan Ragi dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Ikroop Lal, 0-4. Luv de Lasan's Ikroop Lal proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 73rd minute of the match, managed to save Luv de Lasan from getting a goal against them. In the 79th minute Abhranaga Kadam shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Navjot Narindra saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Luv de Lasan booed when Southbourne AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mohanakrishnan Ganguly didn't get a good kick on the ball.
