Seating: 1773, VIP seats: 0) Hridayangam Patiala started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. After some careless play in the India defense, Hridayangam Patiala kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ramkrishnan Sahni. The India fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ramkrishnan Sahni should have stopped the shot. Analajit Sagoo's late challenge caught a India's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Analajit Sagoo helped the player get up and apologised. The goalkeeper, Jivaratna Beasley, was totally fooled by India's Candraparvata Subba, who 12 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. In the 19thth minute of the game Hridayangam Patiala who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but India's Ramkrishnan Sahni was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Abhilasin Chawla's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 22ndth minute, Jivaratna Beasley skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. If Ajina Ghai had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jivaratna Beasley made an important save on a dangerous shot by Abhilasin Chawla in the 28th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 32nd minute, Jagadish Mukherjee managed to get in a good position for a shot. Holton-le-Clay's supporters rose to their feet, but Jagadish Mukherjee was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ramkrishnan Sahni breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Hridayangam Patiala in the 33rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ramkrishnan Sahni saved India from getting behind. In the 36th minute Jagadish Mukherjee shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ramkrishnan Sahni saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hulas Salve hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. After the first half Holton-le-Clay were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ajina Ghai made a kick off. 53 minutes into the match, India's goal looked a bit too open when Hridayangam Patiala came free, but Ramkrishnan Sahni reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Hulas Salve took the ball and in the 57 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ramkrishnan Sahni. Ramkrishnan Sahni dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-3. Jagadish Mukherjee received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Ramkrishnan Sahni tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. India's Ramkrishnan Sahni played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hridayangam Patiala in the 64th minute of play. Ara Jadeja sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hridayangam Patiala in the 68th minute of play forced India's goalkeeper Ramkrishnan Sahni to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 70 minutes, Adhita Hora mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the India and the Holton-le-Clay players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, India's Adhita Hora got a free kick in the 70th minute. India's Ramkrishnan Sahni played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hridayangam Patiala in the 74th minute of play. Hulas Salve hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. Abhilasin Chawla's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jivaratna Beasley read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 77th minute of play. If Hridayangam Patiala had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A hard shot 80 in the game by Jagadish Mukherjee from a close distance when the talented Ramkrishnan Sahni managed to make a qualified save. India's players were relieved. After having played for 89 minutes, Hridayangam Patiala managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Holton-le-Clay's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hridayangam Patiala was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 92 minutes into the game, Aharbandhava Gowda was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. India's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Holton-le-Clay the free kick. The supporters of Holton-le-Clay booed when India was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aharbandhava Gowda didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in India's zone, Jagadish Mukherjee stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ramkrishnan Sahni came out of the goal and Jagadish Mukherjee tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ramkrishnan Sahni took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hridayangam Patiala, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Holton-le-Clay played a much better game than India and deserved their victory. The India players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
